The menu is written in the morning, not in advance
Our specials depend on what the local boats bring in, and most of that fish is line-caught. It is a slower and more expensive way to buy, and it means we cannot always promise a specific dish in advance.The consequence for you is simple. **The specials go quickly at lunch, and in the evening there is not always enough left of what was on the board at midday.**
So if there is something specific you want to eat, come for lunch. Lunch gives you the fullest board. Dinner gives you the light going down over the water and a quieter room, with a shorter list. Both are worth doing. Deciding which one you want is the single most useful thing you can settle before you book.
The same is true of the wine, which comes from small suppliers in Bali and Jakarta rather than a large distributor. The list is chosen rather than inherited, and there is no room for a deep cellar here, so bottles do run out. If there is something you want, mention it when you book and we will tell you honestly whether it is still on the shelf.
