What a beachfront restaurant in Kuta Lombok actually means
It means the sides of the room are open and the sea is the wall. There is no glass between you and the water, no dress code, and sand gets everywhere no matter how carefully anyone sweeps.
It also means the weather is part of the meal. A grey afternoon on this coast has its own quality, low light and an empty beach, and it is a completely different experience from a bright one. Neither is worse. Come with the expectation that you are eating outdoors and both work.
The practical version: bring something for your shoulders after dark, do not plan around heels, and give yourself longer than you think. Nobody who eats on this coast eats quickly.
