Restaurant Codium - Kuta Lombok - Where two seas meet
Once upon a tide, on the golden shores of Lombok, a quiet bond existed between the ocean and its people. As dawn stretches across the reef, local seaweed farmers step gently into the shallow blue, baskets in hand, collecting what the sea offered: delicate strands of seaweed, rich in flavor and full of life. Each harvest is a rhythm passed down through generations, guided by moon, tide and touch. It’s about honoring what the sea is willing to give.
Salt. Simplicity. Soul.
That’s the recipe we follow — the one the sea wrote first.
At Codium, our roots may stretch from the Mediterranean, but our soul is deeply planted in Lombok.
We are inspired by the way Mediterranean cultures live: simply, seasonally and close to nature. That same philosophy lives here, too. Local seaweed became our muse. It’s fresh, sustainable, and deeply nourishing. But more than that, it connects every dish we serve to the stories of our island: to the women who dry it under the sun, to the fathers who taught their children the tides, to the reef that keeps our waters clear and full of life.
Like olive oil on a warm Greek table, seaweed in Lombok is humble, essential, and full of quiet
strength.
Seaweed is our local olive branch.
It anchors us — to this land, this sea, this community.
We use it in many ways: crisped into fritters, folded into compound butters, infused into broths that echo both sea and sun. Always with restraint. Always with respect. Always letting the ingredient speak.
When you taste our seaweed, you taste the meeting of two coastlines:
The wild, generous waters of Lombok, and the timeless, sun-drenched simplicity of the Mediterranean.
Welcome to our table. Welcome to Codium
